Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM Location: Bowling Green High School Track Event DescriptionRelay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fund-raising event, bringing communities together in hope, celebration and memory. It is a unique event that offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. The overnight event remembers those who have lost the fight against cancer and honors those who have survived. In 2006, Relay For Life events nationwide raised more than $350 million. Because Relay For Life is a community event, everyone is encouraged to participate. Teams of 10 to 15 people form from businesses, clubs, families, friends, hospitals, churches, schools and service organizations. These people share a common purpose — their support of the American Cancer Society’s mission. During the event, team members take turns walking on the track and camping out overnight. Each participant is encouraged to raise at least $100 for the American Cancer Society. Our goal: $220,000 The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service. Upcoming Meeting Dates Team Captain’s Meetings: 3rd Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm at BGMU Annex on Center St., downtown BG; Bank Night: May 31st, place and time TBA For more information: Staci Simpson, Relay For Life Chair: c 779.5126 or stacisimpson@remax.net
