The 19th Annual Women of Achievement Awards sponsored by the Bowling Green Human Rights Commission will be held on Friday, March 19th at 6:00PM at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center. Awards will be presented in 16 different categories including Arts, Education, Science & Health, Women Reaching Higher, Women First, Women of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.

The BGHRC has awarded 270 awards over the past 19 years to local women making positive contributions to the community. The Women of Achievement Awards Banquet has been proclaimed “the premier event for Women’s History Month and recognition of women in the state of Kentucky” by Linda Murnane, former Executive Director of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights. The national theme for women’s history month 2010 is “Writing Women Back Into History”. Awards will also be presented for the children’s essay contest and a $1000 educational scholarship will be awarded to the Youth Achievement Winner.
