Hundreds of local auto workers attended a rally Wednesday sponsored by the Alliance of American Manufacturers: a group that is touring the country to educate people on the auto industry crisis and encourage them to contact local elected officials and lobby for more help for the auto industry. A variety of speakers were featured at the rally at the UAW hall in Bowling Green.

Warren County’s population has grown from 92,522 in 2000 to an estimated 105,862 in July 2007, according to U.S. Census information released Wednesday. That represents a 14.3 percent growth rate and is the case with many states; the majority of the population increase is female.

Her friends said she made the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and always insisted on "extra, extra, extra ice" in all of her drinks. Laura Chaney, an 18-year-old WKU freshman from Florence, died Monday and more than 100 of the Sigma Kappa's sorority sisters and friends gathered Wednesday morning in the theatre at Downing University Center to memorialize her life with stories, pictures, laughs and tears.

Western Kentucky University has a weekend full of graduations slated to start Friday, including the first commencement for 55 students who completed two years at the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science.
