Some locations within South Central Kentucky have already picked up between one to even localized amounts exceeding 3 inches of snow. Many roads are already snow covered, slick and very hazardous. Use extreme caution if you must travel overnight into Tuesday. The WINTER STORM WARNING has now been extended to include Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties... including the city of Bowling Green... 3 to 5" of snow poss. Areas generally along & north of the Western KY Parkway remain under a Winter Storm Warning... 4 to 6" of snow poss. A Winter Weather Advisory also continues for Allen, Barren (including Glasgow), Hart, Green, Metcalfe & Taylor counties... 2 to 4" of snow poss. All warnings and advisories expire at noon on Tuesday. Lows near 31. Expect snow to continue overnight, occasionally mixed with rain & sleet, then morning rain & snow showers. High 34. Wind chills in the teens & single digits. Snow will gradually diminish after noon with little any additional accumulation by late day. Temperatures will also fall through the day with lows in the lower 20s by Tuesday night. Any leftover rain and/or snow on roads will refreeze and cause for more potential travel problems through Wednesday morning. High temps will warm only slightly to the upper 30s through the weekend. A few flurries are possible, otherwise expect a mix of sunshine and clouds. Meteorologist Jay Brandon |
