We had a nice start to the week in south central Kentucky with plentiful sunshine and more mild weather. Most areas made it to the 50-degree range today, and we'll do the same for Tuesday as highs reach the mid 50s. Expect a mainly sunny, but cold morning as lows reach the low 30s. A weak upper level disturbance will push through the region late tonight and bring an increase in clouds this evening. There is a slight chance of a few isolated or widely scattered rain showers after midnight. There is also the possibility of a couple of snow showers mixing in with the rain as well, then sprinkles/flurries lingering early Wednesday morning. No snow accumulation is expected due to ground temperatures being above freezing... lows in the mid 30s. Any rain amounts should be less than a tenth of an inch. The associated cold front with this weak system does bring in noticeably cooler air as highs for the rest of the week drop to the mid to upper 40s. A brief blast of even colder air is expected for the weekend... highs in the upper 30s to near 40; lows in the mid to upper 20s.
