The Capitol Arts Theatre will be rocking this Saturday from the sounds of Elvis. Ronnie McDowell, who performed with Elvis, wrote the song “The King is Gone” after his death, and it has sold more than five million copies. McDowell says Elvis's music speaks to the masses even if “the king” didn’t realize how great of a voice he had. The ELVIS Story will feature several performers some of whom performed with him. Performances willl take place this Saturday at the Capitol Arts Theatre with shows at 3:00 and 8:00. A proposed state law called, Amanda’s Law, is intended to strengthen measures to protect domestic violence victims from their offenders. If enacted those under protective order due to abuse would be required to wear GPS monitors for easier tracking. The law would place the financial burden of purchasing the devices on counties. |
