More motorists are expected to be out on the road
this Labor Day weekend compared to last year.
Triple-A says Americans are feeling more confident in
the economy which will cause about a ten percent hike
in driving. Louisville Triple-A spokesman, Roger
Boyd, says more than 31 million motorists will travel
fifty or more miles from their homes for the last big
weekend of summer.

An Oakland Elementary School teacher retired Tuesday
from 30 long years with a special send-off from some
of the students. On Donna Carrier’s last day, her
husband picked her up from school and drove her to
their home where an airplane was waiting to fly her
back over the school. Students below held signs
shouting farewell and waving at Carrier. Carrier has
taught hundreds of students including the school’s
current principal.
