Marshall Scott and John Martin are taking a new approach to recruiting students for Western Kentucky University’s music department. The two have recorded a jazz duo for guitar and trumpet CD to hand out in high school band rooms when they do seminars. Because it is a recruitment tool, the university’s Department of Sponsored Programs footed the bill for the CDs. Almost a year after losing its building to a fire, Mount Pleasant Church of Christ moved into its new home, with the first service Sunday. The church’s congregation has been gathering at Richardsville Elementary School since the Aug. 13 arson destroyed the building on Ky. 185. This morning at 8 a.m. construction crews are expected to begin the demolition of the T.C. Cherry Elementary School building. |
