Monday Evening Skywatch40 Webcast 3-1-2010
Clouds from the weekend spilled over as we began a new week and month across South Central Kentucky. Temperatures also continued to remain below normal with highs topping out in the mid 40s. Tonight's lows will be seasonably cold in the lower 30s along with cloudy skies. However, daytime highs on Tuesday will still stay about 10-15 degrees below average with temperatures only reaching around the 40 mark. Chilly, breezy winds from the north will actually make a "feels like" or wind chills around freezing during the afternoon hours. A storm system to our south will bring more clouds to the region for Tuesday and Tuesday evening. Some areas could see a few flurries Tuesday night, mainly S/E of Bowling Green, as the system tracks eastward along the Gulf coast and eventually the Atlantic coast by midweek. Lows in the upper 20s. Otherwise, our weather throughout the Commonwealth will be fairly quiet with improving conditions later in the week! Expect a much nicer second half of the week as sunshine returns on Wednesday and then warmer temperatures arrive Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid to upper 40s. The weekend looks to be off to a great start with highs near normal at 52 on Saturday with lots of sunshine. Temps warm a few notches shy of 60 by Sunday and Monday, but with slight chances of rain showers. Have a great day! Meteorologist Jay Brandon |
