Today will also be the last hot day for a while as highs reach the low to mid 90s again. High pressure will start to weaken and break down over the Mid Atlantic states. This will allow for a cold front to move through our region late this week. Clouds will begin to increase this evening as the front advances closer to our area. A stray shower or storm is possible for areas west of Bowling Green by Thursday night. The chance of widely scattered showers and a few storms becomes greater on Friday. The best time frame for any rain will be during the morning and early afternoon hours. Rainfall amounts should be light and mainly under a quarter of an inch. We'll clear out in time for Friday night and lows drop to the mid 50s. After the front passes, high pressure builds through the region and sets the stage for an excellent Labor Day holiday weekend. Abundant sunshine, highs in the upper 70s/lower 80s, dry conditions and low humidity sums up our weather outlook for much of the weekend. The weather looks absolutely great if you have any outdoor plans for our long holiday weekend.
