Skywatch40 Monday Evening Webcast 8-30-2010
Isolated showers have diminished tonight in southern Kentucky. Rainfall amounts ranged from a trace to only a few hundredths of an inch at most locations. Expect a partly cloudy sky overnight and lows slightly above average in the mid to upper 60s. We should stay free of any rain and see more in the way of sunshine for the next couple of days. High pressure strengthens to our east, but also ushers in a warmer, more southerly wind flow. Temperatures rise above normal in the low to mid 90s through Thursday. A cold front advances through our area late Thursday into Friday. Widely scattered showers and storms are possible along and ahead of the front. At this time, the outlook for Labor Day weekend appears much more comfortable. Behind the front, expect drier, less humid and cooler air with highs quite seasonable in the low to mid 80s over the weekend. Sunshine continues for Labor Day on Monday, but warmer with highs in the upper 80s. Meteorologist Jay Brandon |
