Skywatch40 Thursday Evening Webcast 9-2-2010
Today's highs reached the low to mid 90s throughout south central Kentucky. Soon, we'll be welcoming temperatures in the 70s for our daytime highs! For tonight though, expect increasing clouds and becoming mostly cloudy late... lows in the upper 60s. Isolated showers are possible after midnight into the overnight hours. A cold front will continue to move through the Commonwealth tomorrow morning. Some widely scattered thundershowers will occur along and ahead of the front. The best chance for any rain will be during the morning hours. Rain should be light and then move east of Bowling Green and Glasgow by noon. Sunshine returns for the afternoon along with much cooler air behind the cold front. High temps only reach the lower 80s... a few degrees below normal. We'll see a mostly clear and starry sky for Friday night and unseasonably cool with lows dipping to the low-mid 50s. High pressure builds across the region for the entire Labor Day weekend. This will bring us perfect holiday weekend weather with brilliant sunshine, low humidity levels and below average temperatures. Expect highs in the upper 70s Saturday, lower 80s Sunday and lows quite cool in the low to mid 50s. We'll see a slight warm up by Labor Day on Monday with highs in the upper 80s, but remaining rain-free with lots of sun. Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend! Meteorologist Jay Brandon |
