Skywatch40 Weekend Webcast 8-20-2010South Central Kentucky had a great end to this work week with abundant sunshine! It was rather muggy out however, but we have big changes coming in our forecast. Muggy conditions will continue ahead of an approaching cold front. Therefore scattered showers and storms are in the forecast for Saturday and into the morning on Sunday. Warm, moist air will allow storms to fire off tomorrow ahead of the front--some may becoming strong to severe. The main threats will be damaging winds, heavy rain and small hail. The front will continue to push through overnight into Sunday continuing the chance for storms. After the passing of this front slightly drier air will filter in and we will see lots of sunshine. The tranquil weather will last through all of next week, with an extra shot of less humid air mid-week as a weak frontal boundary comes through. Keep the umbrella handy this weekend! Lindsey |
