Glasgow residents have reason to be hopeful about the city’s future. An audit report released earlier this month shows signs of local recovery. In fact, Glasgow’s unemployment rate has dropped more than two percent since 2009. City officials are pleased with the report, but say they want to do more to create new jobs and continue economic growth.

WKU students are back on the Hill for the second week of the new spring semester, but some students didn’t take a break from the books. Instead, they traveled the globe to further their educations. During the Winter Term, Western Students were represented in Costa Rico, the Bahamas, Brazil and Haiti to name a few places. School officials say these traveling classrooms not only give the students hands on experience, but also broaden WKU’s international reach.

Mammoth Cave National Park Service will offer trail programs soon. New community planner, Russell Clark, will develop trails and recreational opportunities for the Park Service. Clark says his office can provide assistance in technical planning for the overall project plan or design, provide community outreach and help develop partnerships.
