The Greenwood and Interstate 65 interchange is being laid out for its final design. The state will have to purchase a small part right-of-way it doesn’t own, and a few utilities will have to be moved before the project can begin. This intersection will be the first major project in the area to use the Single Point Urban Interchange as well as the Natcher Parkway and Plano Road intersection. It will be late next year before the project will be bid out. Beginning tomorrow, law enforcement will be increasingly visible on area roads. They are on the lookout for impaired drivers as part of a nationwide campaign for drunk driving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration organized the “Over the Limit, Under Arrest” campaign that will continue through the Labor Day weekend. |
