The first students enrolled in WKU’s new
international recruitment program are arriving on
campus to begin fall classes. More than 20 students have
enrolled in Navitas University Pathway’s Program from
many countries. Navitas recruits students through a
network of offices distributed around the globe. By
spring, WKU expects to triple that number and
double the school's current number of six hundred
international students now attending.

Some area county clerks’ offices will be open Friday
after all, despite the furlough day originally
scheduled as part of the state’s budget-balancing
plan. The offices in Warren, Butler, Barren, and
Edmonson counties will remain open for services such
as vehicle registration, deeds, mortgages, and
marriage licenses. At first, offices were to be
closed following the state’s AVIS would be
unavailable on the furlough day. An announcement from
the governor’s office Monday said AVIS would remain
available to the county clerk’s offices should they
choose to remain open.
