WKU’S Jason Browhow and Terrill McCombs Named to All-Mideast Region Track Team

Bowling Green, Ky. — A pair of Western Kentucky University track standouts have been named to the all-Mideast Region team, which was released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Freshman Terrill McCombs was recognized for his efforts in the 400-meter dash, while junior Jason Browhow earned a spot on the squad after taking third in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Mideast Regional meet last weekend.

Athletes are eligible for all-region honors if they finish in the top eight of an event at their regional championship.

With his third-place finish in the hurdles with a time of 51.04 seconds, Browhow earned an automatic berth to the national championships, which will be held June 6-9 in Sacramento, Calif. A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., Browhow’s time in the regional finals was the fastest by a Sun Belt Conference athlete this season in the event.

McCombs, a product of Upper Marlboro, Md., became eligible for all-region honors when he took eighth place in the finals of the 400-meter dash at the regional meet — clocking a time of 47.70 seconds. He was the only Sun Belt runner to qualify for the finals, after taking eighth in the prelims. McCombs held the fastest time in the Sun Belt Conference, and 34th-best nation in the 400 during the season, posting a time of 46.39 seconds at the league championships.
