WKU Golf Tied For Tenth After First And Second Rounds Of The Cowboy Classic
Scottsdale, Ariz. — The Western Kentucky University men’s golf team finds itself tied for tenth after the first and second rounds of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic played at the 7,133 yard par-70 Talking Stick Golf Club in the Valley of the Sun. The Hilltoppers are 11-over-par after the two rounds, which took the entire day to complete, with a score of 571. WKU is tied with Texas El Paso. Neil Horsley leads the way for the Toppers after posting a three-under-par second round. He currently sits tied for 12th and is two-under for the tournament. Brent Long is also in the top-20 after his one-under-par performance for the first 36-holes of the tournament. He fired a two-under-par during the second round and is tied for 17th. Adam McDonald and Antonio Bruna are both tied for 84th after recording two round totals of 148. Matthew Fuqua is tied for 109 after shooting a 154. Grand Canyon leads the event after compiling a two round total of 548, 12-under-par. Nate Pistacchio and Paul Peterson lead the field each posting a six-under-par for the 36-holes. The Hilltoppers will conclude final round action today. The shotgun start was scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. (CDT). |
