NASHVILLE, TN, Feb. 28, 2007 — The Tennessee Titans hired Vincent Marino as Senior Director of Football Administration. Marino joins the Titans after spending 18 years in the NFL league offices.

Marino will assist in the management of the Titans salary cap, be involved in player contract negotiations and interact closely with Titans COO Steve Underwood and Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt on numerous football related issues.

“We are fortunate to recruit Vin away from the league offices,” said Titans COO Steve Underwood. “Mike (Reinfeldt) and I have had many dealings with him through the years and he has always impressed us with his understanding of league’s player personnel systems and the collective bargaining agreement. By adding Vin to our football department, it gives us a great resource of knowledge as it relates to salary cap management and player contracts; and additionally, it allows Mike and myself the flexibility to focus more intensely in other areas with confidence.”

At the NFL’s Management Council, Marino spent eight years in the Player Personnel Department and eight years in Labor Operations - the last three as the Director of Labor Operations. Working in the league’s Management Council, Marino gained expertise in various capacities and his experience includes: being a primary club contact for player contract valuations, enforcing the rules of the CBA (collective bargaining agreement), salary cap regulation, participating in a strategic group related to forming the last CBA between the league and the players and assisting the league in Super Bowl game operations. He originally joined the NFL as an assistant in the Public Relations department, where he spent two years.

Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Marino was a summa cum laude graduate of Fordham University, where he earned a communications degree and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. The 40-year old Marino and his wife, Nikoleta, have one son - Nikolas.
