Titans Agree to Terms with Safey Bryan Scott
NASHVILLE, TN, March 21, 2007 – The Tennessee Titans on Wednesday agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent safety Bryan Scott on a contract. Scott joins the Titans after spending last season with the New Orleans Saints and the previous three with the Atlanta Falcons. “This is another case of us addressing our depth and bringing veteran playing experience to our team,” said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. “Bryan has experience at both safety spots and even corner; has made over 30 career starts and is still a young player who will contribute to this team.” A four-year veteran, Scott (6-1, 219) has recorded 230 tackles, four interceptions and 3.5 sacks in 56 career games, including 36 starts and two postseason starts. Scott joined New Orleans last year in an offseason trade from the Atlanta Falcons, where he spent the first three years of his career. His best statistical season came in 2004 when he recorded 85 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception in 16 starts for Atlanta. Scott was a second round selection (55th overall) by the Falcons in the 2003 NFL Draft. He was a three-year starter for Penn State, totaling 202 tackles, five interceptions and 22 passes defensed during his college career. He saw time as a starter at both safety (2002) and cornerback (2000-01). A native of Warrington, Pa., Scott was Pennsylvania Player of the Year at Central Bucks High School. Most Popular |
