National Assisted Living Week® begins on Grandparent’s Day, Sunday, September 11 and continues until September 17, 2011. This year’s theme, “Forever Proud,” is set to commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Bowling Green Retirement Village will celebrate with a balloon release to showcase our residents and staff and give them a chance to shine.
Bowling Green City Commissioner, Bruce Wilkerson will publicly recognize resident veterans to honor citizenship, service and achievement. Music by the infamous gospel quartet, The Music City Boys, will follow. The kickoff will be held at Bowling Green Retirement Village at 2:30 pm Sunday, September 11th. Patriotic events and carnival games, supported by many local businesses, will close the week on Friday, September 16 at 3:00pm.
“Many assisted living residents are the people who made significant contributions to our community,” says Vickie Jennett, executive director of Bowling Green Retirement Village. “They have been the teachers, business people, civic leaders, public officials, parents, and now grandparents, who have contributed so much to Bowling Green, Kentucky. This week gives us a chance to honor these citizens’ contributions along with staff, families, friends, and volunteers of our community.”
We invite you to be part of our “Forever Proud” celebration and witness first hand the beauty and joy that are the motivating force behind the special care at Bowling Green Retirement Village. We think your audience would be interested in hearing about this event and learning more about the unique individuals at Bowling Green Retirement Village.
