Bowling Green's own, Scott Porter, was the main event this past weekend in the XFC Battle in the Bluegrass at UK's Rupp Arena. This was the largest mixed martial arts cage fight, yet to be held in the state, drawing a crowd of 4,000 plus. Scott Porter took the win by defeating opponent Benny Stanley of Lexington in a mere 13 seconds with a submission choke. Porter now holds the MMA record of 5-0, he is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is an assistant instructor at Bowling Green Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA at the House of Fitness on State Street.

Scott came and helped Josh out back in March at a BJJ seminar we had at our school. He is a great guy and super humble. Glad to see him doing good in these large venues.
