S&A Incorporated announces the purchase of Pro Football team
It is official; the corporation that owns the new ABA expansion basketball team the Kentucky Mavericks here in South Central Kentucky has acquired a professional football team. The team is an expansion of the NAFL (North American Football League) to be based in Bowling Green, KY. The name of the team has also been announced as the Bowling Green Blitz. The NAFL is entering into its ninth season of existence. The NAFL maintains a national presence with over 120 teams. Currently the league is divided into 4 conferences, 8 regions, and 32 divisions. In less than 5 years the NAFL proved itself and is quickly becoming recognized as a viable developmental league for the colleges and pros.
The team will play from June through September giving football fans a great option to enjoy the game during the summer when there is not a lot going on in the sports world. This will be a great source of affordable family-oriented sports entertainment and will generate revenue for local businesses in South Central Kentucky. The Blitz strategy is to raise funds for local charities, provide employment opportunities and internships for young people and to donate thousands of dollars in tickets to youth groups and charities. The Blitz will be a tremendous asset to the area while focusing on local talent to play for the team. For more information or to apply for a position on with the team you can contact the staff via email at david@thekymavericks.com

Too bad someone didn't bother to do a Google search on the name "Bowling Green Blitz". Had they done that they would have realized that the name was already owned by another person. This would have saved the Mavericks people some embarrassment.

What amazes me is that the original Blitz could not even get a high school field to play on in Bowling Green. We had to go to Auburn to play. Now the city wants to act like this is a big deal. Let's see them win a championship.

According the nafl.org the NAFL is not a professional, nor semi-professional league. They identify themselves as a straight amateur league. To call the new Bowling Green football team "Pro" is a highly inaccurate statement.
