In the seven months Apollo has been in my life, we've had many adventures together. But the most important adventure we've experienced was the March of Dimes 2008. In the months prior to the March of Dimes, the two of us went from door to door raising money. People seemed much more enthusiastic when they saw Apollo. He was never out of kisses for those who opened their doors. His friendly nature no doubt encouraged many take the time to hear how the March of Dimes changes lives. On the night before the actual march, my teammate, DeLana Clark and I stayed up late making sure everyone had a Tshirt (including Apollo). DeLana was our Team Leader. Her son, Corvain, was 2 pounds and 9 ounces when he was born 2 months premature due to toxemia. If it wasnt for organizations such as the March of Dimes, Corvain would be in Gods hands now. He is now 2 years old and very healthy. In celebration of this fact, our team adopted the name Team Corvain. On the morning of the March, everyone commented on how cute it was that Apollo had a shirt just like the rest of the team. We made many friends during the walk. Many people took of pictures of Apollo being his cute self. I feel like we did alot to raise the morale of the event. Apollo brought alot of smiles to everyones face that day. Its my hope that everyone who participated this year will be sure to march for the babies next year. Apollo hsa more love in his heart than he knows what to do with! I am so blessed to have him in my life. I know that with a little help from me, Apollo will continue to touch lives.
