With the talk of a smoking ban I felt the urge to state my opinion. I have heard a lot of smokers complaining that they will themselves become banned. Some even compared it to the days of the southern “black and white” rules, which is a complete joke. Bottom line is this: YOU are NOT banned. You can go anywhere you like; you just can't always smoke while you're there. Smokers seem to wrap their identity completely around those little paper tubes.

I'm with Nichole on this, and Robert... they're not applying legislature to a product. There has been no change to tobacco legislation. No-one is preventing you from smoking. If you want to fill your lungs go ahead, just do it in your own space.

The point that is completely missed is that if you can legislate a legal product then anything else can be also. Sodas can have a negative impact on people, so can candy. Let us not overlook processed foods. Where do you stop?

That is what non-smoking sections is for. I think it should be the establishments choice. There are many places in BG that you an go where there is no smoking.. What about a place for the smokers? Lets face the truth people, we are losing our rights!

Agreed. As a nonsmoker, I have a right to not be drowned out by cigarette smoke and to breathe clean air. If folks want to smoke, fine, but do it in your own home or vehicle where it damages only your lungs and body and not mine.
