Warren County Public Schools bus driver John Henning was recognized at the February 8 meeting of the Warren County Board of Education, along with Rich Pond Elementary School student Sierra Keene, for their efforts to collect gifts for soldiers serving overseas. Henning, a former Marine, started the project with one box on his bus. It grew to involve hundreds of Rich Pond students and five other bus drivers. Keene was the first student to donate items on Henning's bus. The project blossomed and resulted in 20 boxes of gifts being shipped to Marines in Afghanistan during the holiday season.
