A unique fundraising event is being planned for our community by andfor BGGreen Partnership for a Sustainable Community. "Trash toTreasures" will take place on Sunday, August 5th from 12:00-5:00 pm,
at Bread and Bagels, Inc. Bread and Bagels is an owner-operated business that specializes in wholesome foods, deli products, and community-sponsored events. It is located at 871 Broadway Avenue and is also a "Green Partner" for BGGreen Partnership for a Sustainable
Community.

Artists and amateurs alike are invited to participate in this day of art, community-building, and recycling of the highest form! Under the supervision of local artists, participants will work with recycled
materials to fashion multimedia art, working in groups or individually. All participants are encouraged to bring scraps, junk metal, wood, parts, old canvases, paint, cloth, buttons and tools – anything that can be used in making these unique creations. The artworks will then be displayed and sold the following evening,
Monday, August 6th, again at Bread and Bagels.

Proceeds from the sales will be used to help print the second issue of the Green 'Zine, a community-written and produced collection of essays, rants, raves, poems, other writings, and art which is geared toward moving our community and region closer to environmental
stewardship and sustainability. The second issue is due out in August. All community members are welcome to both events.
